Toastmaster of the Day Script - 28th Sep 2025

After a long time, I played the role of the Toastmaster of the Day at Chennai Speakers Forum. Here is the script that I used for the meeting.

CSF Meeting #645

WOD: Merriment - A lively celebration or party

Theme: Festival Season

Dussehra is around the corner... and it officially kick starts the festival season in India. Festivals are meant to unite people, share joy and create lasting memories.

At CSF, every meeting is a festival... isn’t it? Our weekly meetings bring us together, multiply the joy and create lasting memories...

In our meeting today, we have 4 Segments

  • Prepared Speeches, where members come prepared with a speech based on a speech manual: This segment is like the Dussehra ... where we prepare lots of sweets and sundal to kick start the celebrations. Similarly, members come prepared with speeches.
  • Table Topics, our impromptu speaking segment: This segment is like Diwali. Firecrackers will be burst ... atom bombs, rockets, flower pots... you name it... we have it in this segment.
  • Evaluations, where we get to learn about what did we do well and what can be improved: Before the new year dawns... we reflect on what we did well and what can be improved the next year.
